In 2018, the Secretariat partnered with the United Kingdom to improve the engagement of member states with the United Nation’s Universal Periodic Review (UPR) process. The Secretariat and the UK signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen the Commonwealth Small States Office.

In partnership with Intel, the Commonwealth Secretariat has developed an AI-driven policy toolkit that enables governments develop strategies and policies using best practices from around the world but customised for their own countries.

Botswana is a member of the Physical, Digital and Regulatory Connectivity clusters of the Commonwealth Connectivity Agenda. The Connectivity Agenda is a platform for countries to exchange best practices and experiences to trade and investment and undertake domestic reform.

The biennial Commonwealth Law Ministers Meeting (CLMM) will take place in Zanzibar from 4 to 8 March 2024.

The Commonwealth Secretariat is holding a launch event at Marlborough House to mark the beginning of the Year of Youth 2023 – a seminal 12 months dedicated to action on Commonwealth-wide youth issues.
