The seventh Commonwealth Games Federation Sports Breakfast today continued the tradition of bringing together heads of government, special guests and leading figures from the world of sports.
The 22nd Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) opened today in Sri Lanka’s capital city Colombo with a theatrical welcome to leaders and representatives from the Commonwealth’s 53 member countries.
Ahmed Adamu from Nigeria will chair the new body, which will be the recognised voice of the 1.2 billion young people of the Commonwealth and provide a framework for youth-led development initiatives.

The Commonwealth Youth Council is an autonomous youth-led body, which aims to further advance the youth development agenda and strengthen young people’s participation in the Commonwealth.
Four youth workers from around the Commonwealth have received awards recognising their exceptional work to empower young people, as part of Youth Work Week.
Young people from across the Commonwealth met HM Queen Elizabeth II, Head of the Commonwealth, for a reception marking 40 years of the Commonwealth Youth Programme and the centenary of the Association of Commonwealth Universities.
